KumoBuilder Documentation

How every part of KumoBuilder works, with screenshots of the real screens.

Getting started

Create your account

Sign up with your email or Google, then confirm your address with a six-digit code.

The sign-up form with name, email, password and the agreement checkbox
  1. Open Sign up and enter your name, email address and a password. The form shows the password rules as you type.
  2. Tick the box to confirm you are 18 or older and agree to the Terms and the Privacy Policy. You cannot create an account without it.
  3. We email you a six-digit code. Type it in and your address is confirmed.

“Continue with Google” signs you up with your Google account instead; the same age and agreement apply.

A new account gets its own workspace on the Free tier. The assistant and the website builder start working once you pay for a plan — see Plans and paying.

Name your workspace

Your workspace is your business: its name, hours and everyone who works in it.

Settings, General: the workspace name and business details

Go to Settings → General to set the business name and details the assistant uses, such as your opening hours. Everything else in KumoBuilder — conversations, knowledge, websites, team — belongs to this workspace.

The overview

Conversations, response time and the assistant’s status at a glance.

The overview with conversation counts, recent conversations and AI status

Overview is the first screen after you sign in. It counts this month’s conversations, shows the latest ones, and tells you whether the assistant is active, your knowledge is synced and how many channels are connected. Figures show a dash until there is something real to count.

Plans and paying

Pay by bank transfer, FastPay, FIB, Qi Card or cash; a person approves it against the statement.

Billing: current plan, AI allowance left and the payment form
  1. Open Billing and choose a plan, or a top-up of AI allowance on your current plan.
  2. Pick how you paid — FastPay, FIB, Qi Card, bank transfer or cash — and transfer the amount shown.
  3. Enter the reference your banking app gave you, upload a photo or PDF of the receipt, and press Submit for approval.

Nothing is credited until a person has checked the payment against the statement. Each plan payment covers 30 days and nothing renews automatically: when the days run out the workspace returns to Free. Your data stays, and websites you already published stay online. Prices are in US dollars; Billing shows the amount in Iraqi dinars at the current rate. See Pricing.

Usage

How much of this month’s AI allowance you have used, and what used it.

Usage: AI allowance used, remaining, and replies by the AI and by people

Usage shows your plan’s monthly AI allowance as replies, how much is left, and where it went — the assistant’s replies or the website builder. When the allowance runs out the AI pauses and the workspace tells you; nothing is charged unless you choose a top-up or a bigger plan.

The chat has its own limit, and it is hourly: up to 200 replies an hour by default, reset every hour, on every plan. Owners and admins can change it in Settings → Assistant.

Conversations

Connect your channels

WhatsApp, Telegram, Messenger, Instagram and web chat all arrive in one inbox.

Integrations: the five messaging channels and their connect buttons

Open Integrations and press Connect on a channel. WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram connect through your Meta business account; Telegram through a bot token from BotFather; web chat needs nothing but a line on your website. Each card shows the channel’s status and conversation count, and Check channels tests every connection.

Disconnecting a channel stops it; its conversations stay in the inbox with their history.

Add chat to your website

Paste one script tag for the ready-made widget, or build your own chat window on our client.

The web chat install code: client script, example and API

After you connect Web Chat, the card shows two ways in:

  • Ready-made widget — one script tag. Paste it before </body> and a chat button appears on every page.
  • Build your own — load our client and draw the chat in your own design; or call the API directly.

Your site key is in the code. The widget keeps a random visitor id in the visitor’s browser so a chat continues across pages; it identifies nobody by name.

What your visitors see

The chat opens over your page; replies come from the assistant or your team.

The chat widget open on a sample bakery website with a visitor’s question

Visitors press the chat button, write, and get an answer from the assistant — or from a person if they ask for one or you have taken the conversation over. The message lands in your inbox straight away.

The inbox

Every conversation from every channel, with filters by status and channel.

The inbox with a web chat conversation open

Inbox lists conversations from all channels. Filter by Open, AI or Resolved, or by channel, and search by name or message. Open one to read the whole thread, including what the assistant said.

Take over from the AI

Press Take over to answer yourself; Release to AI hands it back.

A conversation taken over by the team, with a reply being typed

Press Take over in a conversation and the assistant stops answering it; type in the reply box and press Send. Your reply goes out on the customer’s channel. Press Release to AI to let the assistant carry on.

The assistant hands over by itself when a customer asks for a person, and you are notified — see Notifications.

How the assistant replies

Turn automatic replies on or off and set the delay, tone, length and greeting.

Settings, Assistant: automatic replies, delay, tone and length

In Settings → Assistant:

  • Answer customers automatically — off sends every message straight to a person; nothing is lost.
  • Reply delay — a pause so somebody sending three messages in a row gets one reply.
  • Tone, Reply length and Greeting — how replies sound.

The assistant answers from your knowledge base and hands over anything it cannot ground in it. It replies in Kurdish (Sorani or Kurmanji), Arabic or English, whichever the customer writes in.

Kurdish language report

Which languages customers wrote in, what they asked for, and what went unanswered.

Settings, Kurdish language: languages, topics and unanswered questions

Settings → Kurdish language reads the last 30 days (or the period you pick) of replies: the language and alphabet of each message, the topics customers asked about, and the questions your documents did not cover, in the customers’ own words. Add the missing answers to Knowledge.

Automations

Be notified when something needs you, or get a regular business summary.

Settings, Automations: an automation that notifies owners when a customer asks for a person

In Settings → Automations, choose When (for example, a customer asks for a person) and Then — notify owners and admins, or send them a business summary. Or write what you want in a sentence and press Draft it; the assistant fills in the form for you to check. That uses a little of your AI allowance, and nothing is saved until you press Add automation.

Automations only ever message your own team, never your customers.

Analytics

Conversations, orders, appointments, AI replies and channels for the period you choose.

Analytics: monthly figures and conversations per day

Analytics counts what happened in your workspace — conversations, new customers, orders and appointments, how many the AI handled, how often your knowledge had the answer — and charts conversations per day and by channel. Every number comes from your own records.

Knowledge

Upload documents

PDF, Word, TXT, Markdown, CSV and JSON files are read and searched by the assistant.

Knowledge: an uploaded document marked Ready

Drop files on Knowledge → Documents, or click to choose them. Each is read and indexed in seconds and marked Ready; the assistant searches them before it replies.

We keep the text read from the file, not the file itself. Read shows that text; Delete removes it from the assistant’s knowledge. Links imports pages from your website or social profiles the same way.

Add products

Names, prices and descriptions the assistant can quote to customers.

Knowledge, Products: a product with its price

Under Knowledge → Products, add a product’s name, price and description. The assistant uses them when customers ask what you sell and what it costs.

Websites

Build a website with AI

Describe the business, choose a look, and the AI plans, builds and tests the site.

Create Website: the brief box and the five steps the AI takes
  1. Open Create Website and describe the business and what the site needs — pages, content, style, language — or start from an example.
  2. Press Choose a look and pick one of six styles chosen for your brief, or let the AI choose.
  3. The AI plans the pages, builds a real React site, opens it in a real browser on desktop and phone to fix what is off, and the server checks it again before it is marked Ready.

It takes minutes. You watch each step, can stop it, and ask for changes in the same chat when it is done. You can also Edit visually: click anything to change colours, sizes and pictures, or double-click text to type over it. Nothing is public until you press Publish.

Manage a published website

Versions you can roll back to, custom domains, Google Search, and visitor data.

  • Versions — every publish is kept, and you can roll back to an earlier one.
  • Custom domains — connect a domain you own; the screen shows the DNS records to add and whether they have been found.
  • Google Search — connect your Google account once; every publish then verifies the site with Google Search Console and submits its sitemap.
  • Data from visitors — bookings, enquiries and orders sent from the website.
  • Delete website — removes the website, every version and the data its visitors sent, and frees a place on your plan.

Turn a website into an app

An Android and iPhone app from the same website, published with your own store accounts.

From the website’s builder, Turn this website into an app makes an app with your brand’s icon, splash screen and colours, tests it on a real phone and writes the store listing from your website. It is published under your own Google Play and Apple developer accounts. The app asks for no permissions the website does not use.

Your website’s data

Orders, bookings and products your website keeps — change them and the site updates.

Database: where a website’s orders, bookings and products appear

When a website keeps orders, bookings or products, they appear under Database to read and change. A change shows on the website straight away. Orders and appointments customers make in conversations get their own pages too; owners and admins approve a new page the AI suggests before it appears in the sidebar.

Team and account

Team and roles

Invite people as Admin, Agent or Viewer, and transfer ownership.

Settings, Team & roles: members, invites and what each role can do

In Settings → Team & roles, enter an email address, pick a role and press Send invite. The link expires in a week.

  • Owner — everything, including billing and deletion.
  • Admin — publish the site, change the assistant, invite people.
  • Agent — answer conversations and edit knowledge.
  • Viewer — read the inbox and the numbers; no changes.

Accepting an invite moves the person’s account into your workspace. Ownership can go to any member; you keep an admin seat.

Your profile

Your name and photo as the team sees them; the email address you sign in with.

Settings, Profile: photo, name, email and timezone

Settings → Profile holds your name (shown on replies you send by hand), your photo and your email address. Times are shown in your device’s timezone. To change your email address, contact us.

Password, two-factor and sessions

Change your password, turn on an authenticator app, and see every signed-in device.

Settings, Security: password, two-factor and signed-in devices

In Settings → Security:

  • Change password signs out every other device.
  • Turn on two-factor with an authenticator app, and keep the recovery codes it gives you.
  • Where you are signed in lists each device with its address and when it was last seen.

Sign-in is rate limited and locks for a while after repeated wrong passwords.

Notifications

Choose which emails you get, and quiet hours when you would rather not be emailed.

Settings, Notifications: which emails you receive

The bell at the top tells you when a customer needs a person, a payment is decided, or the assistant stops answering. In Settings → Notifications you choose which of those also come by email — customers asking for a person, the assistant pausing, payments, and the daily summary — and set quiet hours.

Each of those emails has an unsubscribe link too. Account and security emails always arrive. We send no marketing emails.

Affiliate program

Share your link and earn a share of what the businesses you refer pay.

Settings, Affiliate program: commission, period and payout threshold

Join in Settings → Affiliate program to get your link. The screen shows the current commission, for how many months it is paid, and the minimum payout. A referral is remembered only if the visitor allows marketing cookies. After a 30-day hold, ask for a payout by FIB, FastPay, Qi Card or bank transfer.

Your data

Cookie choices

Accept all, reject all, or choose by category — and change your mind any time.

The cookie banner with Accept all, Reject all and Customize

The first time you visit, the banner asks before anything optional is stored. Reopen it from Cookie settings at the foot of any page, in Settings → Profile, or . Every key we store is listed in the Cookie Policy.

Download your data

A JSON file of your personal data, or the whole workspace as a zip.

Settings, Profile, Your data: cookie settings, download and delete
  • Settings → Profile → Download my data — your profile, sign-in history, sessions, notifications and settings, as JSON.
  • Settings → Danger zone → Request export (owners and admins) — conversations and messages, documents, products, records and the generated site, as one zip.

Delete your account

Deleted after seven days; you can cancel until then.

Settings → Profile → Delete my account. Your account, photo and sessions are deleted seven days later, and you can cancel until then. What you did inside the workspace stays with the business. A workspace owner must first transfer ownership or delete the workspace.

Delete the workspace

The owner deletes everything — sites, conversations, files and members’ accounts — after seven days.

Settings, Danger zone: export, transfer ownership and delete

The owner deletes the workspace in Settings → Danger zone. Nothing changes for seven days, so you can export and cancel. Then the workspace, its websites and domains, conversations, files, connected channels and every member’s account are permanently deleted. A workspace on a paid plan can be deleted once its paid period ends — contact us to delete it sooner. More in the Privacy Policy.
